Fine Arts

Fine Arts at St. Pius X School

At St. Pius, your child will establish a lifelong appreciation for the arts.  Fine art classes and extracurricular activities offer students of all skill levels the opportunity to explore, or discover, a passion for the arts.  Students have the opportunity to develop new skills in a supportive environment. We approach each discipline with a balance of historical, theoretical, and practical instruction, as well as an emphasis on innovation and imagination. The Fine Arts department is supported by faculty, administration, and parents.

"Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord."
Ephesians 5:19

Visual Arts

At St. Pius, students learn to express themselves through a variety of media in art class and after school activities. Rooted in an appreciation for art history and technique, students learn about the lives of famous artists and their bodies of work, and then they attempt to create their own masterpiece.

Music

The music program at St. Pius is designed to offer students of all levels of experience education in vocal and instrumental music. All students attend music classes in which they participate in vocal and instrumental music.  Using their voices, ukuleles, and recorders, St. Pius students learn to make a joyful noise to the Lord!  Students in band and guitar ensemble have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the annual Christmas Program and Spring STREAMM Night/Arts & Music showcase. The school band and choir perform annually at the Carowinds Festival of Music and have received an Excellent or Superior rating every year.
